Thanks Aral for initiating this!

As an effort to help getting this discussion started here a couple of links I find important to be considered for the 7th pillar. Some of you have probably been to my presentation/workshop at the Volksbuehne Event and already know much of this but I think it's still worth a read. The topics are "Democratizing Production and Innovation" and "From Smart Cities to Smart Citizens". There's much more on this topic but these two articles can serve as an introduction.

Here's a proposal for EU legislation that would have some dramatic implications on the Internet as it converts the surveillance economy into a micropayment economy and requires basic civil liberties by technical implementation… in practice, it should solve most or all issues discussed in the 7th pillar.
