Hi Aral
From the Quadrature du Net, you could try Adrienne Charmet, who is just leaving Quadrature to join ANSSI (Agence nationale de la sécurité des systèmes d'information) ... which is... interesting, but she will still be working for the public interest, she says.

Guillaume Champeau of Qwant.com (privacy-first search provider) also seems sound to me...

As a first step, there should be an evaluation of already available solutions for collaborative working, prefereable FOSS of course. The the minimal attributes, that should be collected are name of the tool, scope of application, licence, already in use. This way local DSCs can provide information about already in-use alternatives and share theier experience.

Hi citoyen77,

This post is about the working group – please let’s keep it on-topic. I will open a separate post about our internal use and choice of technologies (a very important topic) so we can discuss this other issue there. (Your concerns are valid and shared and we are already experimenting with usable alternatives, like Mastodon (see https://d25.community).

I’ll move your post and the follow-up posts to that topic once it’s up.

Hi David,

Further to my comment to citoyen77, this post is about the working group. I’ll write up a separate post about our internal technology choices and move your post there so we can discuss the topic in its own thread without derailing the working group discussion thread.

Thanks, Alistair, but I don’t think we will be having any representatives of secret services or military groups on our working group / advisory panel. They have their own, with their own set of goals (which we don’t share) ;)

Good shout. Let’s add his name to the list. Thanks!

Anyway they work as a collective, no personal identities (you might know Wu Ming, different work same method).

Ah, that sounds interesting – we could definitely collect them to see if they would like to help as a collective if that’s how they prefer it (I don’t have any objections to that). And thank you for the link, will view :)

Good to know; thank you :)

Final personal note: I think we should be critical about the general ideological background of people in the working group. For instance, I know that Snowden seems like a good contributor and I personally like what he does; but his political stance might not really coincide with DiEM25. Just a thing to consider.

Noted, and definitely something to consider.

Hi Aral and all,

I am not really into it and can only trust that your proposals are excellent choices, thanks for the initiative!

But there is one name that comes immediately into my mind concerning this theme: Birgitta Jonsdottir, Iceland.
Besides being politician of the Icelandic Pirate party and a poet she is information activist and co founder of the "Switzerland of bits" IMMI project
https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/swit ... democracy#

and I think she generally would be an interesting personality to have on our side. The documentary film "The Mouse That Roared" was made about her.

Hi Andrea,

i agree with you concerning the person of Brigitta.

I see a big accordance between DiEM25 and the Pirate-Movement.
Did you know that the Pirate-Party-Hessen had shared and remixt the Islandic-election-programm?
https://wiki.piratenpartei.de/HE:Programm

I'll hope that this is not to much election-advertisement by myself

I would bring Constanze Kurz into the boat. She is a PhD computer scientist, author and lecturer, spokeswoman for the Chaos Computer Club and works for the very meritorious page netzpolitik.org.

Another name that came into my mind is Gesche Joost. She is a professor of design research at the Berlin University of the Arts and is head of the Design Research Lab. Together with international partners, she develops research and teaching projects on the topics of man-machine interaction, gender and diversity aspects in technology development as well as on social sustainability and social participation.

Just to add some women :)

Great suggestion. Laura and I went to meet Birgitta and Ásta (Guðrún Helgadóttir) in Iceland last year. They’re both wonderful. The biggest issue is, I know Birgitta is very busy with her work but I can ask (and I can ask Ásta also).

Also ex-Pirate Party (and now part of StartPage
is Ancilla van de Leest. She’s a good friend of mine and we’d already informally been chatting about this initiative. I’ll add her name to the list also.

Thanks again for your suggestion and input.
